An LGBT Homeless Shelter Will Open Soon in Arkansas
A LGBT-friendly homeless shelter for young adults will open its doors in Little Rock, Arkansas this Fall 2016.
The shelter will be the first shelter of its kind, specifically designated to offer aid to people of the LGBT community, to ever open in Arkansas.
It will have enough space to house about 4 people.
The dwelling that will be used to run the homeless shelter was donated by the LGBT humanitarian organization The One to the local Arkansas community organization Lucie’s Place.
Penelope Poppers, spokeswoman for Lucie’s Place says, “It’s great to finally be able to announce this, and I know our community members and our supporter are really thrilled because they have been working directly with us for the past few years to make this happen.
Popper’s hope is that they will be able to expand and grow operations sometime in the near future.
