Homophobic Attackers Set Gay Man on Fire in Britain
The quiet town of Cleveland, England made headlines recently as a vicious, targeted, hate-crime attack against a young gay man was recently perpetrated, as reported by PinkNews.
In early July, a young 20-year-old man was in a park by a burned down town church when he was approached by four men.
The 20-year-old was asked inappropriate and hatefully taunting questions about his sexual identity by the four men.
The 20-year-old man ignored his harassers and walked away from them.
One of the four men then got behind the 20-year-old as he walked away, and simultaneously spraying and igniting an aerosol can with a flame, creating an ad hoc flame-thrower. The attacker severely burned the legs, specifically the calves, of the 20-year-old man.
Cleveland, England police are investigating the crime as a hate crime against a gay man and are asking for help and tips from the public.
The attacker was described as a shirtless white male in shorts in his early 20’s with blond hair and a medium sized build. Descriptions of the attackers three cohorts were not made public.
