Seattle City Council to Vote This Week on Gay Conversion Therapy Ban
The Seattle City Council will convene an official vote on whether or not to pass a ban on allowing gay conversion therapy techniques to be used on young adults and minors.
The vote on prohibiting use of the controversial shock-behavioral and sexual identity modification and eradication therapy is expected to pass.
If the measures passes Seattle will only become the 4th city nationwide to outright ban gay conversion therapy modification.
Only four states have enacted state-wide bans on gay conversion therapy modification. These would include California, Illinois, New Jersey and Oregon.
The Seattle City Council took up the measure on behalf of the city of Seattle since authorities of the state of Washington passed on taking a state-wide vote of the ban.
